Maintaining Professionalism in Law Enforcement

Complaints

The Sinton Police Department seeks to maintain public confidence in the ability of the department to investigate and properly adjudicate complaints against its members including racial profiling. A citizen who wishes to make a complaint against any member of the department should contact the department by phone at (361)364-4400 or in person at 217 E Market, Sinton Tx. Any after hours concerns may be routed through police dispatch at (361)364-2211 for the on duty supervisor. Except in extenuating circumstances, a complaint is normally not accepted more than ninety (90) days after an incident occurs. Your complaint must be made in writing and be notarized. Your complaint will be investigated and then reviewed by the Chief of Police at which time the final disposition will be determined. You will be notified in writing of the final disposition of your complaint.

Commendations

The Police Department is also eager to learn of instances where you feel the officer or civilian employee performed in an exemplary manner. Commendations, like complaints, help the agency gauge overall customer satisfaction with our performance. We encourage you to call or write with your opinions no matter how they relate to the department and its employees. The Sinton Police Department is eager to serve you and your input helps us do that. Commendations can be filed in person at the Sinton PD, or by emailing the Patrol Sergeant.
